Since 1993 Peter has specialised in construction law, claims management and dispute resolution. during this period he has acted as party representative in more than 100 adjudications. He has provided training and seminars on a variety of topics related to construction law, commercial risk management and dispute resolution. Peter undertakes the drafting and vetting of contracts, subcontracts and supply agreements; he provides advice on collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees and has helped organisations draw up contract administration procedures.
In addition to working throughout the UK Peter has worked extensively on commissions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Ireland.

Construction Law Advice

Peter is legally qualified and when providing advice he utilises both his commercial and legal knowledge and the advice is provided in a way that is easily understood. He strives to use his expertise to try and resolve matters without recourse to a formal dispute process.

Claims

Peter ties always to deliver an objective analysis of any contractual problem and informs clients of the strengths and weaknesses of the case. From that informed decision a coherant strategy can be formulated along with budgets and likely timescales. Peter has an enviable track record in developing, negotiationg and resolving claims for additional cost and time.

Adjudication

Construction adjudication is a fast track form of dispute resolution designed to deliver a third party decision within a 28 day timetable.Peter has extensive experience in managing the process from the identification of a problem or dispute through to document preparation and conduct of the process through to the adjudicator's decision.

Commercial Management

Peter provides tender review and risk management services through to ongoing project healthchecks, procurement advice, commercial and subcontract management through to final account preparation and agreement.

Training and Seminars

Peter has presented a substantial number of in-house and public seminars on a full range of construction contracts and law subjects. Including on forms of contract JCT, ICE, NEC, MF/1, IChemE and FIDIC and on claims, contract administration and adjudication.

Peter also provides, on a quarterly basis, Free Breakfast Seminars on relevant subjects. The seminars are held in Warrington usually meeting at 0745 with the presentation commencing at 0815 and lasting for about an hour. Complimentary breakfast sandwiches and tea and coffee is served. Following the conclusion of the presentation Peter makes himself available for ad hoc discussions or queries on construction matters.
